An Indian national and his two children were recently granted visas to enter the UK following their successful spouse (and dependent) visa applications.
A UK citizen approached Cranbrook Legal to help their non-UK spouse and stepchildren obtain spouse and dependent visas. The family’s situation was complicated by the need to obtain permission from the children’s other biological parent.
We arranged a Zoom meeting with the applicant in India and quickly took instructions from her about her specific circumstances. Given the team’s extensive experience in UK immigration law, we were able to identify the steps she would need to take in India in order to secure the documents needed from the children’s father.
The client returned in just a few days instructing that the documents would be made available to us and that she and her UK husband would like to proceed with the application. She commented on how our solution for the documents was so simple but so effective, and that she would not have known where to start if she had been required to deal with this herself.
We advised the couple of other documents needed in support of the application, which would cover the relationship, financial, and English language requirements.
Our team also provided guidance on obtaining the necessary legal permissions, and helped the couple gather the required documentation to prove their genuine relationship and financial stability.
After we received all the documents from the client, we were able to review the documents and provide feedback in just five days. The client was able to action the feedback and provide us with the final set of documents that she wished to rely upon for the application. We then prepared the application in full within seven days for her to review and approve.
The spouse and dependent visas were granted, allowing the family to settle in the UK together.
