The Context

A client of Indian origin sought to self-sponsor their Skilled Worker visa application. They were linked to a UK company through common ownership and had been employed for over 12 months, meeting the necessary criteria.

To ensure a smooth transition, the client required assistance in navigating the complex process of setting up their company in the UK, obtaining a sponsor licence, and applying for the Skilled Worker visa.

How We Assisted

We guided the client through the process of setting up their business in the UK. This included incorporating the company with Companies House, opening a UK business bank account, registering with HMRC for PAYE and VAT, acquiring employers’ liability insurance, and securing office premises.

Next, we facilitated the sponsor licence application under the Skilled Worker category. This involved submitting the online application, preparing the required documentation, and advising on nominating the key contact, level 1 user, and authorising officer roles. We also prepared the client for a potential Home Office visit to ensure compliance.

After the sponsor licence was granted, we assisted in assigning the Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) and guided the client through the payment of the immigration skills charge.

Finally, we prepared and submitted the Skilled Worker visa application, including dependent family members, ensuring their partner and children under 18 could join them in the UK.

The Outcome

The Skilled Worker visa application was approved, allowing the client and their family to relocate to the UK. The comprehensive support and guidance provided at each stage of the process ensured a seamless transition and a successful self-sponsorship application.
