Our client was a computer software company that had been successfully operating for over four years. The business’s Senior Manager sought an Expansion Worker visa from outside the United Kingdom.
The Senior Manager of the company had worked there for over four years. She had been one of the very first staff members to be hired by the company when it was launched at the beginning of 2017.
Our client wished to send her to the United Kingdom to help expand its software into the UK market. The company felt that the presence of a senior team member that had been with the organisation since the early days was essential to the success of the UK subsidiary of the company.
We outlined the Home Office’s requirements, and explained to our client all the documentation that would be needed to show that its proposed applicant for the visa had the necessary knowledge, expertise, and skill to lead the UK arm of the operation.
We reviewed all the documentation and organised it in a chronological order. We further identified some supplementary documents that would be required to strengthen the business case. Meanwhile, our team also prepared the application so that once all the documentation was in order, the application could be submitted without any further delays.
Our client was unsure as to what was needed in terms of the business plan, and we therefore assisted them with the write up. We advised that this was a crucial aspect of the licence, as it would demonstrate the feasibility of whether the business could succeed in the UK.
At the same time, we worked with the client to bring together the supporting documents required for the sponsor licence. Once these elements were put together, both the Cranbrook Legal team and the client were confident that the licence application was as strong as possible.
Sure enough, the licence application was approved in under five weeks. As we were confident that the licence would be granted, we began preparation of the visa application at the same time, and following grant of the licence, the visa application was promptly submitted.
We were pleased to announce that our client was successful in acquiring the visa as an Expansion Worker. Despite a delay in the acquisition of some of the documentation by our client, we managed to streamline our process to get a positive and timely result in our client’s favour.
