The Context

A client sought entry clearance to the UK as a Global Talent dependant, accompanied by their partner residing in the UK under the same visa category. Although the couple were unmarried, they possessed a cohabitation agreement from their home country.

How We Assisted

Upon consultation, it was evident that the couple didn’t meet traditional cohabitation requirements. However, they had a cohabitation agreement recognised in the client’s home country, akin to marriage. The client’s partner had been issued with a Global Talent visa six months earlier, and the couple now wished to reunite in the UK.

Advised by Cranbrook Legal, they obtained a legal opinion on the agreement’s significance. Additionally, testimonials from friends, evidence of visits, and detailed statements on their relationship were compiled. A comprehensive breakdown of their cohabitation periods, accompanied by photos and communication evidence, further substantiated their case.

We then prepared the application by completing the online visa application form.

The Outcome

Cranbrook Legal meticulously organised the application pack and crafted a compelling cover letter. The application was approved within two weeks of the biometric enrolment. This swift success showcased Cranbrook Legal’s expertise in navigating complex immigration requirements, the client ultimately being reunited with their partner in the UK.
