Our client, a US citizen, had been living in the UK for just under two and a half years, and his spouse visa was coming to an end after 10 days.
We were approached by our client after he realised that his visa was coming to an end shortly. He had been in touch with a number of law firms before contacting us. He felt that they had not responded to him with any urgency, and that this could lead to him missing the deadline to renew his visa.
We arranged a priority appointment with him via a Zoom call, so that we could take instructions regarding his circumstances. At the outset of the call, our solicitor discussed with him his personal and financial circumstances. Using this information, we advised him on what evidence he could provide to help support the application.
We advised him that once he provided the required documents, we would review them on an urgent basis, which would then allow us to complete his online visa application form, as well as our legal representations. We advised him that we would also arrange his biometric appointment at a visa application centre, in addition to uploading his supporting documents to the Home Office portal.
Our client was extremely grateful that we could prioritise his application at such short notice, and informed us that he would like to proceed.
After a short period of three weeks, we were informed by the Home Office that our client’s application for a spouse visa extension had been granted.
