A marketing agency contacted Cranbrook Legal for assistance in securing a sponsor licence in order to sponsor a Business Development Manager. The company aimed to expand its operations to target businesses in China and the Far East.
The client explained that he had begun the process for recruitment but found that most of the people applying were from outside the UK and from the region he wished to target. He mentioned that to recruit from within the UK would be a long, costly, and painful process, and that he had now been put off the idea of hiring someone already in the UK, as it was nearly impossible to find the right candidate.

We walked the client through the application process and the requirements for the licence application, as well as the process of assigning the Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) and the Skilled Worker visa.
Our team reviewed the documents that supported the application for a sponsor licence. We suggested further documents which could support and strengthen the application, giving it the best chance to succeed, and which would help the Home Office reach a decision quicker, as they would not need to request further documents from the client.
We helped them complete the online sponsor licence application, and advised the authorising officer on how to submit the application. We also advised on how they could improve the chances of being selected for the priority service; this would come at an additional cost which would only need to be paid if they were selected for the priority service.
Fortunately, the client’s sponsor licence application was selected for priority service, and they received a positive outcome within eight working days.
